LEGACY SYSTEM #01
The Wettmar Electric Legacy System #01 is a PLL synthesizer, fuzz box, ring modulator, octaver, and a fuzzy, ring-modulated, octave synth noise machine. It does everything from doom fuzz to Lightning Bolt-worship octaves to incoherent modem tones.
SOUND SOURCES
REG. SQUARE: The core sound. It’s a gated, scrappy square-wave fuzz and the only sound source that finds polyphony acceptable.
SUB: The sub-octave square-wave voice with a switchable octave range.
VOICE: The PLL magic voice. This can switch between unison, one octave up, and two octaves up. This is the voice that is affected by the GLIDE LAG/ANIMATE section of the Legacy System.
MODULATION AND MISC
GLIDE LAG*: Controls how well the PLL system tracks the incoming pitch, from bang-on tracking to Theremin-like sounds to unhinged pitch madness.
ANIMATE*: Step away from glide and switch to ANIMATE mode. This is the 4-shape LFO that affects the pitch of the VOICE with a rate control knob.
*Affects the PLL VOICE sound only.
GATE: This isn’t a normal noise gate. Instead, it controls the amount of internal noise oscillation/feedback in the Legacy System. The higher it is set, the more oscillations occur.
SCOPE: Controls the level of the REMOD source when in MALFUNC. mode. It doesn’t even make sense. MALFUNC. mode is a bastardized ring modulator that modulates the summed output signal against the SUB, VOICE, or internal MODEM source. It absolutely destroys the output and drastically reduces the usability of the Legacy System. It ain’t right.
